OAKLAND, Calif. — The suspects in a San Joaquin County freeway shooting were found hiding in a structure at an Oakland homeless camp Monday.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the shooting dates back to Aug. 4. Police responded to a reported shooting along westbound Highway 120 near Main Street. No one was hurt.
Police found the victim and got information that led them toward identifying both a suspect and suspect vehicle, which was ultimately found in Oakland.
By Aug. 5, surveillance helped police find the suspect at a nearby homeless camp. Police served a warrant and arrested Stacy Nelson, 27 of Sacramento, and Jarvis Guard, 40 of Antioch. Police said a stolen gun was also found along with several stolen cars.
Both suspects were booked into the San Joaquin County Jail on suspicion of charges including vehicle theft, shooting at an occupied car, conspiracy, probation violations and gun-related charges.
