San Joaquin County declares local state of emergency following recent flooding in the area

The state of emergency will expire in seven days unless confirmed and ratified by the Board of Supervisors.

SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY, Calif. — Due to recent weather in the area, the Directors of Emergency Services for San Joaquin County have declared a local state of emergency.  

According to a press release, "San Joaquin County was affected by a public calamity when the Board of Supervisors was not in session."

The state of emergency will expire in 7 days unless confirmed and ratified by the Board of Supervisors.

The press release goes on to add, "the storm that began on Dec. 28 caused extreme damage to the safety of people and property within the county, including local flooding of communities and local infrastructure and extraordinary stress upon levees and water systems."
