SACRAMENTO, Calif. — “Saturday Night Live” breakout star Marcello Hernandez will visit Sacramento later this month.
At 7:30 p.m. on Nov. 22, Hernandez will perform at the Crest Theatre along K Street, according to Eventbrite. Doors open for the phone-free show at 6:30 p.m.
Hernandez went viral last month for playing Domingo in an SNL sketch starring singer and actress Ariana Grande where, at a wedding, bridesmaids present a song documenting events of their bachelorette trip to the groom to the tune of Sabrina Carpenter's 'Espresso.'
In the skit, the bride, Kelsey, allegedly cheated on the groom, Matt, with a man she met on the trip, Domingo. Hernandez appears as Domingo toward the end to perform a verse.
“Hey, Matt. Came all this way, had to explain, direct from Domingo,” Hernandez sings in the sketch. “Kelsey’s a friend. She’s like my sis. But, we did hook up, though.”
Hernandez, a Miami native, joined “SNL” as a featured cast member in its 48th season, which premiered in October 2022.
At 27, he is the first cast member from Generation Z, according to GQ. The age group includes people born between 1997 and 2012.
Upon arrival at the Crest Theatre, all phones and smart watches will be secured in pouches that will be opened at the end of the event, the organizer said. Guests maintain possession of their belongings at all times and can access their phones throughout the event at designated phone-use areas in the venue.
