PLACER COUNTY, Calif. — A 67-year-old Placer County man was found dead after going missing earlier in the week, officials with the Placer County Sheriff's Office said.
Law enforcement did not release details on the circumstances surrounding the discovery, but offered condolences to the man's family in a Facebook post.
The California Highway Patrol activated a Silver Alert for Timothy Massei, 67, Tuesday. He was last seen around 5 a.m. on Dec. 17 in the area of Foresthill Road and Isabel Lane in Foresthill.
Officers canceled the Silver Alert Saturday after discovering him dead.
