Snow day for a Tahoe Truckee school amid incoming blizzard conditions

Donner Trail Elementary is on a snow day amid a major winter storm with blizzard conditions expected from Thursday to Sunday morning.

PLACER COUNTY, Calif. — The Tahoe Truckee Unified School District announced Thursday that one of its schools will have a snow day. 

Donner Trail Elementary is on a snow day amid a major winter storm with blizzard conditions expected from Thursday to Sunday morning.

The school district said all other schools in the district have a minimum day. The district asks those attending Alder Creek Middle School and Truckee High School to look for another message about transportation.

Here's a list of schools and dismissal times.

  • Glenshire Elementary School | 12:50 p.m.
  • Kings Beach Elementary School | 12 p.m.
  • Sierra Expeditionary Learning School, K-5 | 1 p.m.
  • Sierra Expeditionary Learning School, 6-8 | 11:45 a.m.
  • Tahoe Lake Elementary School | 12 p.m.
  • Truckee Elementary School | 12:50 p.m.
  • Alder Creek Middle School | 11:40 a.m.     
  • North Tahoe Middle School | 1:11 p.m.
  • North Tahoe High School | 12:10 p.m.
  • Sierra High School | 12 p.m.
  • Truckee High School | 12 p.m.

The most dangerous days in the mountains will be Friday and Saturday with heavy snow, gusty winds, and nearly impossible travel. Find more on the weather forecast HERE.
