A person was shot in the face Wednesday morning on Florin Mall Drive, Sacramento County Sheriff's officials said.
The victim is recovering at a nearby hospital, authorities said the injuries are not life-threatening. Deputies described the victim as a homeless person.
Florin Mall Drive was shutdown to traffic as of 7:20 a.m. as the investigation continues.
A potential suspect was detained but has not yet been arrested. He's described as having a dark complexion and wearing a gray hoodie.
