SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Whenever customers call Hollywood Hardware store on Freeport Boulevard in South Sacramento, they hear a familiar voice— "Hollywood Hardware this is Susie, can I help you?"
Head cashier for more than 20 years, Susie Reynolds told ABC10 Tuesday is her last day at the hardware store that's been open since 1948.
"The customers, my family that I work with, I'm sorry," she said as she held back tears. "I just love it. I guess it's like a home for me for the last 21 years. I have the best memories."

Hollywood Hardware is set to close by mid February, a trend that's happened to many stores up and down the boulevard Reynolds said.
As she walked the halls of the hardware store greeting guests and giving longtime customers hugs goodbye, Reynolds paused to share memories of the store.
"I'm really going to miss this place when it's gone. It was sad because it's been here so long. To me, it's part of our neighborhood history," said customer James Wacker.
Reynolds studied the store and learned all the ins-and-outs over the years, so that she could answer any customers questions.
It has helped the store maintain its respect in the community, and Reynolds said she hopes customers remember how dedicated not just her but all the workers were to making Hollywood Hardware thrive for so many decades.
"I've learned a little bit of plumbing, a little bit of electrical and other things over the years. It's so fun working at a hardware store," she said.
