Vehicle collision injures 2 pedestrians, police say

Both pedestrians have been taken to the hospital. One has life-threatening injuries.

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — A man and woman were injured after being struck by a vehicle in South Sacramento.

Police say the two pedestrians were on the sidewalk when they were struck near Stockton Boulevard and McMahon Drive. The woman has life-threatening injuries, while the man has non-life-threatening injuries, according to the Sacramento Police Department. They were both taken to the hospital.

The driver has remained on the scene police said. Officers are investigating if drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash.

The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
