VALLEJO, Calif. — British indie rock band Sports Team said they were robbed at gunpoint ahead of their Sacramento show Tuesday.
The six-person alternative band stopped in Vallejo for coffee Tuesday morning when, according to a post on the band's Instagram, they found masked guys ransacking their van outside a Starbucks.
Sports Team was making their way to Sacramento for a show at Goldfield Trading Post in midtown Tuesday night.
"Just robbed at gun point 10 minutes into the US tour," the band's post reads. "Stopped for some coffee. Man runs in saying some guys are smashing into a van. Start yelling and they pull out a gun."
The band said they were told by police to submit a report online. ABC10 reached out to the Vallejo Police Department about the robbery, but the inquiry was not immediately returned.
Although their personal belongings were stolen, they still have their instruments, allowing them to perform their Sacramento gig as scheduled.
The group added that they were "shocked" that people were "resigned" to the robbery.
"They can take our Nintendo Switches, but they can never take our ability to play songs about motorways," the band said.
After the Sacramento show, Sports Team is slated to return to the Bay Area for a concert at The Chapel in San Francisco, according to their website.
