Stockton Lantern Festival wins 'Best New Festival' award at international convention

The Stockton Lantern Festival won gold at the annual International Festivals and Events Association convention, expo and retreat.

PITTSBURGH — The city of Stockton is taking home a new piece of hardware after the Annual International Festivals and Events Association (IFEA) convention.

During the IFEA Awards Ceremony, the Stockton Lantern Festival came out on top in the Best New Festival or Event category.

Its media partner, Visit Stockton, also won gold in: best single digital social ad, best digital ad series, best promotional photograph and best printed materials.

A news release says the inaugural Stockton Lantern Festival had over 45,000 guests. It returns to the Stockton Ballpark starting on Nov. 22.

Tickets are on sale now at www.stocktonlive.com. Tickets start at $19 for children ages 2-12 and $23 for adults.

The city previously won Best New Festival in 2022 for Stockton Flavor Fest. It faced tough competition that year as the eligibility period for entries spanned from 2019-2022.
