CERES, Calif. — A Stockton man out on community supervision was arrested early Friday morning after he allegedly led officers on a chase in a stolen vehicle.
According to the Ceres Police Department, it happened around 5:20 a.m. Friday when an officer found a stolen vehicle with a person inside near E Hatch and Mitchell roads.
Police say the officer tried to stop the vehicle, but a chase began that went into Turlock.
Officers performed a PIT maneuver, though the driver continued through the front yard of a home and back onto the road.
Police say the driver, 41-year-old Chhay Hisocanphaktra, rammed the front end of an officer’s vehicle and he was taken into custody after officers stopped the vehicle.
They found Hiscocanphaktra was on post-release community supervision from prison in Orange County. He was booked on suspicion of theft of a vehicle and assault with a deadly weapon on a peace officer.
