Man, woman dead with gunshot wounds in Stockton identified

The pair were found lying next to each other, and police say a gun was recovered at the scene.

STOCKTON, Calif. — A man and woman found dead Friday in Stockton, prompting a homicide investigation by police, have been identified.

The San Joaquin County Medical Examiner’s Office said Patricia McDonald, 83, of Stockton, and John McDonald Jr., 76, of Stockton were discovered at a residence around 7 p.m. along the 4600 block of Winding River Circle.

The pair were found lying next to each other, and both had gunshot wounds, according to the Stockton Police Department.

Police say a gun was recovered at the scene, and the man appeared to have suffered a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Homicide detectives have taken over the investigation, officers said.
