STOCKTON, Calif. — A bicyclist was hit and killed while riding on Interstate 5 in Stockton Tuesday.
The California Highway Patrol said around 3 a.m. a man was riding a bicycle southbound on I-5 north of Hammer Lane in the #1 lane.
A man driving a Lexus was in the same lane behind the bicyclist going about 75 mph. The Lexus hit the bicyclist, pulled onto the right shoulder and stopped.
The bicyclist died at the scene. Drugs and/or alcohol are suspected to be a factor in the crash, according to California Highway Patrol.
The driver of the Lexus was not arrested, according to California Highway Patrol. The crash is under investigation
