LATHROP, Calif. — A body was found in the a river near Lathrop Saturday afternoon, according to the San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office.
A coroner was called to the area to identify the body but officials have not released who was found.
The body was found two weeks after a boat capsized in the San Joaquin River near Lathrop. Two men went overboard, one got out of the water and the other, identified by family as Tommy Clark, wasn't found.
Officials have been searching in the area since the boat capsized May 23, but say they “exhausted all of our underwater search efforts” and continued doing surface checks.
