STOCKTON, Calif. — Deputies suspended a search along the Calaveras River for a teenager who jumped into the water.
According to the Stockton Unified School District, there was a fight just after 2 p.m. on the campus of Stagg High School.
The district says when administrators tried to approach the teens, they took off and jumped into the water.
One of the teenagers came up, but crews are still searching for the other teenager.
A spokesperson for the Stockton Unified School District said one teenager was a Stagg High student and the other was an independent student. It's not clear which student was the one who resurfaced.
After hours of searching, deputies have suspended their search until the daylight hours.
