Car, remains possibly connected to disappearance of Arnel Narvaiz found in Sacramento County

A positive identification of the remains is still waiting on the results of DNA testing.

STOCKTON, Calif. — A car and body possibly connected to a missing person's case from the 90s was found in Sacramento County last week.

Adventures with Purpose, a nationally recognized search and recovery dive team, said they were initially searching for the Duke Heringer, of Elk Grove, when they found the car and remains on April 13.

According to the National Missing and Unidentified Persons System (NamUS), Arnel Narvaiz was last seen on July 1, 1994. He was reported missing from Stockton after he left home to go to work in his Beige 88 Toyota Cressida, but he never came back. He was heading to a Delta Island Ranch in the Twin Cities Road area of Sacramento County.

The car and license plate from NamUS match the license plate and car Adventures with Purpose said they found. The Stockton Police Department told ABC10 the car and remains could be related to the disappearance of Arnel Narvaiz, who went missing in 1994.

Police have notified family members, however, a positive identification of the remains is pending DNA testing. Sacramento County will be conducting the autopsy.

Police said there doesn't appear to be any initial signs of foul play.
