STOCKTON, Calif. — San Joaquin County Sheriff's deputies found a stolen box truck used to transport deliveries Saturday morning, but according to officials, the items inside the truck were missing.
According to the sheriff's office, the truck was reported stolen Saturday morning. Deputies found the truck empty and conducted a probation search on a home connected to the investigation.
Inside the home, deputies allegedly found a room full of stolen goods, weapons, narcotics and an illegal gambling operation.
"The room at the property was all Fox apparel items, motorcycle racing items and we were actually able to locate a couple of motorcycles as well as the items," said Heather Brent, spokesperson for the San Joaquin County Sheriff's Office.
The sheriff's office said, in total, seven people were arrested for charges ranging from outstanding warrants to burglary and possession of stolen property.
Deputies say they returned many of the stolen items to their owners.
"The San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office has made it clear that we don't tolerate this crime. We don't tolerate any crime," said Brent.
Brent said the sheriff's office encourages people to be cautious during the holidays and to avoid leaving valuables in their cars or on their porch.
The sheriff's originally described the truck as an Amazon truck, but later learned that it was from a Fox distribution center.
"We originally thought it was from Amazon. Later into our investigation, we were able to determine that it was actually a Fox distribution center, so the room at the property was all Fox apparel items," said Brent.
