STOCKTON, Calif. — Stockton Police arrested a man Friday afternoon accused in a 10-minute-long crime spree near downtown.

According to the Stockton Police Department, the spree began around 3:50 p.m. Saturday in the 1400 block of North San Joaquin Street. Investigators say 60-year-old John Green forced his way into a home in the area.

He allegedly assaulted a 19-year-old resident and took her property. When the victim tried to get away, police say Green tried to stab her. Medics took the teen to a hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

Ten minutes later in the 200 block of Harding Way, Green allegedly walked into a business and tried to steal a 40-year-old woman's property while she was holding her child.

Police say Green then tried to stab the woman as well, before leaving the area. On the way out, Green allegedly tried to stab and carjack a 68-year-old man. A witness stepped in and pulled Green out of the car, police said.

According to police, Green got into a second car, but officers eventually got to the scene and arrested him.

Officers booked Green into San Joaquin County Jail on suspicion of residential robbery, assault with a deadly weapon, attempted robbery and child endangerment.
