STOCKTON, Calif — A woman was cited for petty theft after allegedly getting caught stealing around $800 in cosmetic products in her bag at the Lincoln Center in Stockton.
The San Joaquin County Sheriff's Office reported to a call around 1 p.m. regarding a possible shoplifting attempt at Sephora in Lincoln Center. According to the sheriff's office, the suspect tried to escape in her car but was stopped by a horse patrol deputy before she could open her car door.
“They were patrolling Lincoln Center. Being on horseback is great for this because deputies can see over most vehicles and spot suspicious activities during the heavy holiday shopping season," the sheriff's office said.
