Man dead after early-morning Stockton shooting. Police search for his killer

Around 2:30 a.m., the Stockton Police Department responded to Mac Duff Avenue and found a 24-year-old man with multiple gunshot wounds. He was soon pronounced dead.

STOCKTON, Calif. — A man is dead after a shooting early Sunday morning in Stockton.

Around 2:30 a.m., officers responded to the residential 800 block of Mac Duff Avenue to a report of a person shot, according to Stockton Police Department spokesman Officer Omer Edhah. Police then located an unresponsive 24-year-old man who was suffering multiple gunshot wounds, Edhah said.

Stockton Fire Department personnel arrived and pronounced him dead at the scene, police said. 

Homicide detectives are looking into the incident. There is no information on a suspect, and police are still working to determine the exact location of the shooting, according to law enforcement.

Edhah said the shooting appears to be an isolated incident, and there is not an outstanding threat to the community.
