Modesto man arrested for attempted murder in Stockton road rage shooting, CHP says

The arrest happened following a rod rage incident on the 99 in Stockton last week.

STOCKTON, Calif. — California Highway Patrol arrested a Modesto man on suspicion of attempted murder following a road rage shooting in Stockton on Oct. 27.

CHP says 20-year-old Isaac Ramirez, of Modesto, shot at another person's car while going southbound on Highway 99 near Morada Lane. Ramirez is said to have been driving a black Honda Civic and shot at a white Honda Accord. The Honda Accord then crashed.

"The driver of the victim vehicle sustained minor injuries in the crash. Neither the victim nor the victim's vehicle was struck by gunfire," CHP wrote in a press release.

Law enforcement said Ramirez took off from the shooting location but through CHP's search of the area they detained three individuals less than 15 minutes later near the Morada Lane onramp.

Through vehicle registration, they were able to identify Ramirez in the shooting.
