Mountain lion spotting in San Joaquin County neighborhood prompts warning

The San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office issued a warning to residents in the Acampo area just outside of Lodi due to a mountain lion spotted on east Harvest Road.

MORADA, Calif. — A mountain lion was spotted in San Joaquin County, prompting officials to put out a warning late Saturday evening.

The San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office issued a warning to residents in the Acampo area just outside of Lodi due to a mountain lion spotted on east Harvest Road.

Residents are advised to bring their animals inside and stay inside themselves. 

Deputies are in the area anticipating trapping the animal if it's spotted and ask people in the area to call them at 209-468-4400, Option 1 if they see the animal.

Officials say the mountain lion is not aggressive and there is no threat to the public.
