STOCKTON, CA - A correctional officer who worked at the San Joaquin County jail was arrested and charged with four counts of lewd act upon a child.
Augustine Miranda was arrested by Stockton police in June. Spokesman Joe Silva with the Stockton Police Department said the victim was a teenager who was familiar with Miranda.
San Joaquin County Sheriff's spokesman Dave Konecny said Miranda is on leave while his legal situation is settled. Konecny wouldn't offer any other information on Miranda or the charges against him.
MIranda is facing a potential prison sentence of 12 years if convicted of the charges.
