Usman Rao, a tech executive who joined Sky Zone in 2015, recently acquired three existing parks including one in Vacaville, according to a Sky Zone news release. He will be the franchisee behind the Tracy location slated to open in 2025.
Rao is also expected to open a Sky Zone in Milpitas around that time.
“Having been a part of the Sky Zone family for nearly a decade, I'm inspired by the brand's mission to provide the best family entertainment facilities to local communities," Rao said in a statement.
Rao told ABC10 he is truly excited to bring a park to Tracy because he lives in Northern California.
“As a Northern California resident, I’m truly excited to bring Sky Zone’s mission of active play to Tracy and its neighboring communities, providing families with a fun way to create lasting memories and spend quality time together," he said.
Mike Revak, Sky Zone president, said Rao has helped the company reach great communities in important and thriving areas.
“Tracy is just the beginning of Usman's expansion as we look forward to growing with him further in North California,” Revak said.
Sky Zone has over 500,000 members across 270 parks nationwide. It was founded in 2004.
