SANTA CRUZ, Calif. — Jordan Ford, a Folsom High School alumnus and Stockton Kings player in the NBA G League, put up a career-high performance Saturday in Santa Cruz.
The Kings lost to the Santa Cruz Warriors 121-112 in overtime at Kaiser Permanente Arena, but Ford scored a career-high 37 points.
Ford was converted to a two-way contract between the Stockton and Sacramento Kings in September, according to the NBA.
He was a member of Sacramento’s 2023 Summer League roster and posted averages of 16.3 points, 2.8 rebounds, 5.3 assists and one steal starting in four games at the NBA 2K24 Summer League in Las Vegas, the association said.
Ford played at St. Mary’s College prior to his professional debut.
Mike Wall, Ford’s coach at Folsom, says Ford was not the most athletic, but he was definitely the hardest worker and most skilled player on the court in high school.
“Knowing that that will get you to the highest level makes you feel good as a coach and fan of sports,” Wall told ABC10 Monday.
