3 new Stockton parks need a name. Here's what you can do about it

Stockton is bringing some new parks into the city, but they need help figuring out what exactly they're going to call them.

STOCKTON, Calif. — Stockton is bringing three new parks to the city, but they're calling on everyone in town for a little help.

Stockton officials are hoping to get nominations for what they're going to call these new parks.

The parks are at the corners of Westlake and Scott Creek drives, Valens Way and Orbison Lane and Parliament Street and Skynyrd Way, respectively.

New names can be submitted through the city website HERE.

“Names may be recommended that honor outstanding individuals who are recognized or remembered for their service to the community of Stockton for over 25 years, or can reflect something about the geographic, topographic, or historical significance of the area,” said Kris Farro, Community Services Director. “We will review and consider all applications submitted for each of these naming opportunities.”

The nominations will go through a naming committee which will review the names and make recommendations to Stockton City Council. But even if a name isn't chosen for these parks, it'll be saved for three years and considered for naming other parks, facilities and property in the future.
