STOCKTON, Calif. — A woman has died after being shot inside a van Friday morning, according to the Stockton Police Department.
The shooting happened near South El Dorado Street and 5th Street around 5:40 a.m. The 55-year-old woman was taken to a hospital in critical condition where she later died from her injuries, officials say.
In a Facebook post, the Stockton Police Department said investigators do not have a releasable motive or suspect information.
Witnesses and those with details about the deadly shooting are asked to call detectives at 209-937-8323.
Stockton Crime Stoppers, at 209-946-0600, is offering anonymity and a reward of up to $10,000 for information that leads to an arrest.
The Friday morning shooting marked the city's 10th homicide so far in 2023, compared to 12 at the same time last year.
