STOCKTON, Calif. — One woman was killed and another was wounded in an overnight shooting in Stockton.
The Stockton Police Department said both women were 20-years-old. The shooting happened on the 4100 block of Logan Lane just before 5 a.m. Friday.
Police say they were called for a welfare check after a report of a person down. Officers found a woman with a gunshot wound and she was pronounced dead at the scene.
Officers then found a second woman nearby with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound and she was taken to the hospital.
The shooting is under investigation. The identity of the deceased has not been released yet and there is no suspect information.
