21-year-old man shot and killed, Stockton police say

Police officers found the victim while they were responding to the reports of a shooting near the 1500 block of E. Eighth Street on Wednesday night.

Police evacuated about 20 homes in Stockton after law enforcement officers found a home with military explosives while they were investigating a death, officials confirmed.

STOCKTON, Calif. — A 21-year-old man was shot and killed in Stockton Wednesday evening, Stockton police said.

Police officers found the man while they were responding to reports of a shooting near the 1500 block of E. Eighth Street around 6:56 p.m. Medics brought the victim to the local hospital where the man died from his injuries. 

Stockton police said there isn't a description of the shooter or known motive at this time.
