STOCKTON, Calif. — As officials continue to monitor extreme weather conditions, Stockton Unified School District has canceled another day of classes districtwide.
In a news release, the Stockton Unified School District said there was weather damage at many of their sites and that the power outage has also impacted their food supply.
"We are working diligently to make our schools operational and safe," officials said in a news release. "We are keeping the safety of students and the SUSD Team at the forefront."
The district canceled classes Monday due to the extreme weather conditions that saw heavy winds and rain. Some areas in Stockton continue to be without power into the evening.
Sacramento City Unified School District closed their schools Monday due to storm impacts, but said most of the students will be returning Tuesday. However, five schools will remain closed due to power outages.
