STOCKTON, Calif. — Police have launched an investigation after a body was found in a Stockton levee Sunday evening.
According to Stockton Police Department, officers responded for a welfare check in the area of North Sutter Street and East Ingram Street, near the Calaveras Levee. When they arrived, they found a man's body in the water area of the levee.
Firefighters helped pull the man's body from the water as detectives were called to take over the investigation.
Police can't say whether foul play is suspected or if there are any witnesses at this time.
