STOCKTON, Calif. — A bicyclist was hit and killed by a car along Highway 4 in Stockton Sunday evening.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the bicyclist was in the #3 lane on eastbound Highway 4 near Wilson Way when they were hit by a Nissan around 5:30 p.m.
The bicyclist died, and the driver of the car stayed on scene. Police said alcohol or drugs don't appear to be factors in the crash.
Police also said the bicyclist didn't have any lights on or reflective gear on when the crash happened.
Eastbound Highway 4 in the area is still partially closed as authorities wait for the coroner's office to respond. Caltrans said at least one lane is closed on eastbound Highway 4 near Wilson Way due to the crash.
