2 hurt after tree falls on vendor tents at Delta College flea market

Two men were taken to the hospital after they reported a complaint of pain.

STOCKTON, Calif. — Two men were hurt after a tree fell on vendor tents during a flea market in the San Joaquin Delta College parking lot Sunday morning.

According to Sgt. Jim Bock, with the Delta College Police Department, the tree fell on two tents around 10:15 a.m.

While the men were alert and conscious after the incident, they had a complaint of pain and were taken to the hospital.

Police took their report, which they said will be sent over to risk management.

"We just want to make sure that people are safe, (and) that they get whatever service or treatment they need," Bock said.

Wind speeds in the area were around 17 mph around 10:15 a.m., according to the National Weather Service. However, it's not clear if the winds caused the tree to fall. Police said they didn't want to speculate on the cause.
