San Joaquin County Sheriff's officials confirmed the second inmate who escaped from a San Francisco rehab center on March 5 was brought back to jail on Tuesday evening.
Sheriff officials said Elijah Ismael Cervantes was taken into custody at about 5:30 p.m. after he crashed in front of St. Mary's High School while attempting to flee officers.
Cervantes was on a judge-ordered day pass at the Delancey Street Rehabilitation Program when he escaped from custody. He was among five inmates who were transported by the San Joaquin County Probation Department.
Cervantes was arrested after he was accused of attempting to steal a car in Stockton while a woman and her three children were inside, officials said.
Stevie Wilson, the other inmate who escaped from custody, was brought back to jail earlier on Tuesday around 12:20 p.m.

Stevie Wilson was on a judge-ordered day pass so he could be interviewed to see if he would be accepted at the Delancey Street Rehabilitation Program. He was among five inmates who were transported by the San Joaquin County Probation Department.
Wilson was arrested and booked into the San Joaquin County Jail around 12:20 p.m. on Tuesday, sheriff's officials said.
Officials said Elijah Ismael Cervantes, who is still at large as of press time, was the other inmate who escaped from the facility. Cervantes was arrested after he was accused of attempting to steal a car in Stockton while a woman and three children were inside, officials said.

Two San Joaquin County Jail inmates escaped from a San Francisco rehab center, including a man who was accused of attempting to steal a car in Stockton while a woman and three children were inside, officials confirmed.
San Joaquin County Sheriff's officials said Elijah Ismael Cervantes and Stevie Lashawn Wilson escaped from a facility while they were being transported with three other inmates to the Delancey Street rehabilitation program by the San Joaquin County Probation Department.
Five inmates, including Cervantes and Wilson, were on a judge-ordered day pass so they could be interviewed to see if they could be accepted into the Delancey Street rehabilitation program.
Officials said probation staff last saw Cervantes at 10:45 a.m. at 600 Embarcadero St. in San Francisco. Wilson was last seen in the same area about three hours later.
Cervantes was arrested in December after he was accused of attempting to steal a car with a woman and her three children still inside.
The mother told police that she was in her car with her three children, a one- and 6-year-old and a 5-month-old, when Cervantes opened one of the doors and tried to get into the driver's seat. The mother told police she fought Cervantes and honked the horn to get the attention of anyone nearby.
Cervantes was booked into the San Joaquin County Jail on charges of carjacking, willful cruelty to a child, battery on a person and petition of revocation of parole, sheriff officials said.
Wilson was in custody on charges of 2nd-degree robbery, carrying a loaded handgun, felon/addict in possession of a firearm and a prohibited person owning and/or possessing ammunition.
