21-year-old woman dies after crashing into pole in Stockton, police say

A woman reportedly crashed a Nissan sedan into the pole. Police said they're investigating the cause, and it’s unclear if drugs or alcohol played a role.

STOCKTON, Calif. — A woman is dead after crashing into a pole Saturday in Stockton, authorities said.

Around 8:45 p.m., officers responded to a report of a solo-vehicle accident along the 1700 block of Turnpike Road and located a 21-year-old woman with injuries, according to the Stockton Police Department.

She reportedly drove a Nissan sedan and crashed into a pole, according to law enforcement. She was taken to the hospital, where police said she died from her injuries.

It is unclear whether drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash, which police said is still under investigation.
