SUTTER COUNTY, Calif. — One person died and two people were injured Monday in a single-vehicle crash in Sutter County.
The California Highway Patrol (CHP) said the crash happened just after 2 a.m. on Highway 99 south of Richland Road.
When officers arrived, they found the 21-year-old driver, of Yuba City, had been ejected from the vehicle and died at the scene. The Sutter County Coroner's Office will release his name after his family is notified.
The vehicle's passengers, a 28-year-old man and 3-year-old girl, were injured in the crash, and both were taken to the hospital.
CHP said witnesses reported the vehicle couldn't stay in its lane and made a sharp turn, rolling over before stopping in the lanes. Highway 99 was closed between Lincoln Road and Richland Road for about two hours Monday morning.
CHP said drugs are a suspected factor in the crash.
