TRACY, Calif. — Tracy Police Department officers detained four people after receiving multiple reports of a robbery at the West Valley Mall Thursday afternoon.

Police say Don Roberto Jewelers, a jewelry store in the mall, was robbed around 2:30 p.m. by eight people wearing face masks.

Police say they smashed glass displays with hammers and ran off with about $150,000 in jewelry.

As officers headed to the area, the suspect's vehicle — a reported stolen white BMW SUV — crashed at the south entrance of the mall near near Corral Hollow Road. Police say four suspects left the car and began to run.

All four were caught and arrested in connection with the robbery. One person was bitten by a San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office K-9 but no one else was injured.

The four suspects arrested were identified by police as:

  • Jayden Barnes, 19 of Richmond
  • Trevion Williams, 21 of Bay Point
  • Eric Anderson, 21 of Antioch
  • Jamary Barnes, 23 of Hayward

The other four suspects were able to get away. It's unknown at this time how much of the jewelry was recovered.

An investigation is ongoing and police encourage anyone with information to contact them at 209-831-6660 or Tracy Crime Stoppers at 209-831-4847.
