TRACY, Calif. — 6:10 p.m. Update: The boy hit has been identified as Angel Ramos-Mata by his father Domingo Ramos. Ramos-Mata is in stable condition, according to the Tracy Police Department. He is still being treated for his injuries.
According to police, the driver of the vehicle was identified as another juvenile student.
"Our Tracy Community, family, friends and his Manteca Futbol Club teammates have kept him in their prayers and he's felt the love," Domingo Ramos said. "He started talking, recognizes us and understands what's happening. So we ask the community to keep praying. Prayers heal and bring miracles."

A high school student in Tracy was hurt after being hit by a vehicle Thursday afternoon, according to police.
Police said the student was hit after 4 p.m. near John C. Kimball High School in the area of South Lammers Road and Jaguar Run.
The student was taken to the hospital to be treated for major injuries.
The driver involved in the crash remained on scene and cooperated with officers, police said.
