Shane Hurst killed in Monday hit-and-run in Turlock

Police said the 33-year-old from Turlock was reportedly walking his bicycle on the way home when he was hit by a car.

CALIFORNIA, USA — Shane Hurst was killed in a hit-and-run on Monday night, according to the Turlock Police Department.

Police said the 33-year-old from Turlock was reportedly walking his bicycle on the way home when he was hit by a car. 

Officers responded to reports of a crash around 5:50 p.m. in the 3100 block of West Christoffersen Parkway. When officers arrived, they found Hurst in the center median with a severe head injury. He was taken to a hospital where he later died.

The driver left the area after the crash. The vehicle is described as a light-colored Hummer (H2) between a 2003 and 2009 model. According to police, there is likely damage to the front driver's side.
