TURLOCK, Calif. — The Turlock Police Department said an area with police activity Tuesday morning is now safe.
Officers say they were responding to a domestic violence incident in the 1300 block of Shady Lane when a man barricaded himself.
After negotiations, the man — identified as 29-year-old Golden Duwane Dupree — peacefully came out of the home.
Officials say Dupree was arrested and booked for stalking and making criminal threats, which stemmed from a prior domestic violence incident in March. He's also facing charges of felony domestic violence, brandishing a firearm, felony child cruelty and battery causing serious bodily injury.
The victim and her son were not home at the time and went to a safe location, according to officials.
