SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Two people were hospitalized after an accident in Arden-Arcade Monday afternoon.
The collision was reported along the 4300 block of El Camino Avenue, near El Camino High School Center for the Arts, around 4:30 p.m.
According to the Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District, one person was found on the ground outside of one of the cars, and the second person was removed from a car by crews.
The California Highway Patrol said a man was driving an SUV westbound along El Camino Avenue at a high speed while a second SUV driven by a woman was heading eastbound. The first SUV hit a raised center median and lost control into the eastbound lanes, where it hit the other SUV.
Both were taken to a hospital with major injuries. CHP said the man was arrested on suspicion of DUI.
