VALLEJO, Calif. — Prosecutors won't file criminal charges against a police officer who shot and killed a man during a 2018 struggle in the San Francisco Bay Area.
A report from the Solano County district attorney's office released Friday says Officer Ryan McMahon was justified in using deadly force against Ronell Foster.
The report says Foster had grabbed the officer's flashlight during a scuffle and posed "an immediate and extreme threat" to McMahon.
Foster's family has sued for wrongful death.
An attorney tells the Vallejo Times-Herald that Foster's family is "sickened and outraged" by the DA's finding.
