FOLSOM, Calif. — Around $6 million in renovations for the Walmart Supercenter in Folsom are planned for 2025.
The store, located on Riley Street, will not be closed during the planned spring 2025 renovations to enhance sections like the pharmacy and deli, according to Walmart spokeswoman Kelsey Bohl. Construction will happen after operating hours, she said.
The remodel will update Walmart to make it one of their stores “of the future,” Bohl said. In addition to the pharmacy and deli, it looks to update the expansion of grocery pickup and delivery, the produce section, new community-focused food and merchandise offerings and the apparel section.
There are also talks of construction of a “Grab & Go” area; Walmart considers sandwiches, salad bowls and candy as grab-and-go foods, according to its website. In August 2023, Uncle Sharkii Poke Bar also announced it was partnering with the popular department store to bring its poke bowls and boba tea to consumers nationwide.
Uncle Sharkii is already available at Walmart Supercenters in Roseville and Galt. Its location in Roseville opened October 2023; its Galt location opened December 2023. It is unclear if Uncle Sharkii is part of the Folsom Walmart’s renovations.
The city of Folsom confirmed Wednesday the renovations target much of the service areas. The project is currently valued at around $6 million, the city told ABC10.
