2,500 without power in West Sacramento after grass fire

Police said a power pole and power lines are down in the area.

WEST SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Fire crews are battling a grass fire that has also impacted power in West Sacramento.

According to PG&E, there are about 2,500 customers without power in parts of West Sacramento.

Police said a power pole and power lines are down in the area of Sacramento Avenue and Douglas, where the grass fire is burning, that caused the outage.

Police are calling on people to avoid the area.

Sacramento Avenue and C Street is closed to traffic from 6th Street to Douglas due to the incident.  Part of Elkhorn Plaza is also closed due to safety concerns from the power line.
