Police searching for assault suspects in West Sacramento

WEST SACRAMENTO, California — Police are searching for suspects in connection to an assault that happened in West Sacramento.

According to West Sacramento Police Department, officers were called to the area of 6th and F Street for multiple suspects attacking a victim. Police said the suspect reportedly had a gun and used it during the attack, but no shots were fired.

The victim was hospitalized with an injury to the head. 

The suspects took off, but officers found some of them in the area of Kegle and Joan. The suspects ran away from officers, and police searched the area, finding two of the suspects. 

Police are still searching for the other suspects. However, after the search, they don't think the suspects are still in the area. 

Streets were impacted along Kegle, Joan, Cummins, Sharian, Hardy and Anna. Police called on people to stay inside and report anyone suspicious in their yards by calling 911.

A lockdown was temporarily issued for Elkhorn Elementary School, but it was lifted.
