WEST SACRAMENTO, Calif. — West Sacramento city officials announced they are looking for developers to revitalize the historic Club Pheasant property on 2525 Jefferson Blvd.
City councilmembers allocated $3.4 million to purchase the iconic Club Pheasant restaurant in 2022 from the Palamidessi family who had been running it for 87 years. The restaurant closed when the Palamidessi family decided to retire.
Discussion over the landmark's future continued into the next year as the site was declared surplus property in April 2023 in accordance with the California Surplus Land Act.
That's when they contracted with Turton Commercial Real Estate to market the property to potential developers, restaurant and retail operators. Proposals from potential developers are due by March 29 at 5 p.m.
Club Pheasant's site is located in West Sacramento's most popular shopping center, Southport Town Center, with more than 2.7 million yearly visitors, according to Turton Commercial Real Estate.
