WEST SACRAMENTO, Calif. — A man in his 40s died in a West Sacramento house fire early Friday morning, according to fire fighters.
The West Sacramento Fire Department says they were called to the area of Balsam Street and Evergreen Avenue about an "explosion and house on fire" just after midnight.
The man was found unconscious and without a pulse toward the back of the home, according to officials. They say lifesaving measures were taken at the home, but the man was pronounced dead at the hospital.
Officials say the fire threatened other structures, but it's unclear how damaged, if at all, nearby homes were in the fire.
