WEST SACRAMENTO, California — Police have launched an investigation into a deadly traffic accident in West Sacramento Monday night.
Officer Torres, a spokesperson for the West Sacramento Police Department, said the crash was reported around 9:20 p.m. at West Capitol Avenue and Westacre Road. However, few details surrounding the crash and what led up to it have been released.
In an update, Officer Torres said four people were found at the scene of the crash, two of them were in critical condition, one had minor injuries and another was pronounced dead. Officer Torres said the person with minor injuries was a pedestrian hit during the crash. All patients were described as adults.
Officer Torres said the investigation is in its early stages and it's too early to determine a cause or determine whether DUI was a factor in the crash.
Police are expecting to be out on scene all night for the investigation.
