WEST SACRAMENTO, Calif — Representatives with the Oakland A's confirmed Sutter Health Park will get upgrades as West Sacramento welcomes the MLB team for the 2025 season.
Planned upgrades to the park include new turf, a new home clubhouse, upgrades to the scoreboard, and upgrades to the visiting clubhouse. These upgrades to Sutter Health Park will be paid for by the Oakland A's, according to representatives.
The Athletic recently reported MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred said the new home clubhouse at Sutter Health Park is being constructed in a separate building adjacent to the stadium.
"There’s going to be new artificial turf installed. They are upgrading the camera capability, so they get major-league quality broadcasts out of Sacramento," he said according to The Athletic.
With the lease at the Oakland Coliseum expiring after the 2024 season, the Athletics will make Sutter Health Park its temporary home for at least three MLB seasons before its move to Las Vegas.
The A's plan to move to a stadium to be built on the Las Vegas Strip with $380 million in public financing approved by the Nevada government. However, the team needed a temporary home as the new ballpark isn't expected to open until 2027 at the earliest.
Sutter Health Park currently has a capacity of 14,014 with 10,632 bowl seats and space for 2,566 on the Toyota Home Run Hill, according to the River Cats.
Average attendance per A's game in 2023 was 10,276, according to Baseball Reference, which lists the typical number of tickets sold per home game.
