Smoky skies? Air quality impacted as fires burn in Sonoma, Colusa counties

Purple Air's air quality map shows unhealthy conditions in the Fairfield area

SOLANO COUNTY, Calif. — Air quality is being impacted in areas like Solano and Yolo County as wildfires burn around the area.

Wildfires such as the Point Fire in Sonoma County and Sites Fire in Colusa County continue to burn. The Sites Fire, in particular, has burned more than 4,000 acres since sparking Monday afternoon.

The smoke from those fires is drifting south as the firefight lingers on.

Purple Air's air quality map shows unhealthy conditions in the Fairfield area while Vacaville and Davis trend toward moderate conditions on the air quality index.
